Salmon Hole Park • 14 acres

Salmon Hole Park is a beautiful place to watch water cascading down the Winooski River, look for wildlife such as ducks, otters, and beavers, or try your hand at reeling in a fish. Dark red rocks jut into the river just below the Lower Falls Dam where steelheads, walleye, and landlocked salmon fight their way upriver to their spawning grounds. As of 2019, the Burlington Wildway Trail now departs from here to Ethan Allen Park, offering a miles long journey through forested parts of Burlington. The Salmon Hole can be accessed via the Wildway Trail, the bike path along Riverside Avenue, or a parking lot just south of the bridge to Winooski.
