A delightful change up from the crowded, groomed beaches farther south, City Beach in the Northshore Natural Area has been kept wild, offering a more peaceful look at Lake Champlain and quieter habitat for shorebirds. Two sets of stairs lead down from the Burlington Greenway bike path for quick access to the beach from the adjacent Starr Farm Park and Community Garden. Rimmed by forest, Starr Farm Park is a gateway of exploration, providing habitat for large mammals like deer and raptors such as barred owls and bald eagles. Access the area via the Burlington Greenway bike path which divides the natural areas, or park in the unpaved lot at Starr Farm Park.
