Surrounding Burlington High School is a trio of conserved lands comprised of Arms Forest, Rock Point, and North Beach. Combined, the area offers an extensive trail network for hikers that weaves around flower covered rock outcroppings, an abandonded quarry, the cliffs of the Champlain thrust fault, and ends on the sandy shores of Lake Champlain. The area is well connected to the rest of the city by the Burlington Greenway bike path which runs through the center of this wild place. Wildlife routes through Burlington also connect here, making it a major link between the lake and the Intervale. Access the area by visiting North Beach via Institute Road or the Burlington Greenway, or park at the Arms Forest trailhead behind the North Avenue Alliance Church.
