Starr Farm Park

Starr Farm Park

96 Starr Farm Rd

Starr Farm Park, part of the historic Starr Farm is now a community space with forest, community gardens, a playground and recreation fields. The vegetation along the borders of the park are some of the remaining fragments of sandplain forests growing in the New North End of Burlington up above the shores of Lake Champlain. You’ll find oaks, pines, and heath plants who thrive in the sand and gravely soil, and other uncommon species who rely on this unique forest environment.

Connection

Starr Farm Park is found across the Burlington Greenway from North Shore Natural Area, but is otherwise isolated from any nearby wild places similar to Mount Cavalry Red Maple Wetland. Regardless of their landscape contiguity, these forests provide refuge for species biodiversity, are treasured by visitors and support the city’s climate resiliency.

Access

Starr Farm Park can be accessed via the Burlington Greenway and Starr Farm Rd. Parking is available at the Starr Farm playground, dog park, and community gardens. Bike parking is available at the playground, about 300’ east on Starr Farm Rd from the Burlington Greenway.
