Centennial Woods

Centennial Woods

65 Acres

151 Centennial Ct

Centennial Woods is one of the most frequently visited UVM natural areas. This area is home to over 65 acres of mature conifer stands, mixed hardwoods, fields, streams, and wetland areas. Within the city limits of Burlington and adjacent to the UVM campus, trails wander through this area which serves as an excellent natural laboratory to study the region’s plants, animals, and natural processes, as well as cultural history.

Connection

Centennial Woods is connected to other contiguous forests to the north surrounding Schmanska Park and the Greenmount Cemetery. Just north over the hill sits Salmon Hole park and the expanses of the Burlington Intervale. This series of natural areas creates an important corridor for travel of wildlife in the city.

Access

Parking for the Catamount Drive entrance to Centennial Woods is limited to a few pay-to-park spaces in front of the UVM Research Annex building, and a bike rack is present at the trailhead. There is also trail access via Grove Street across from Bayberry Circle with the nearest public parking located at Schmanska Park, just a few hundred feet up the road and connected by sidewalk.
